As an Art Director, Brian Madlangbayan’s ultimate focus is the client. “I always produce thoughtful, creative work,” he said. “But at the end of the day, my job is to get at the crux of what a client needs and deliver what they want.”
And for nearly two decades he’s been doing just that for clients such as Comcast, Sephora, PG&E, Adobe, Facebook, SanDisk, Radio Express, LeapFrog, Baxter Biosurgery, Alcatel-Lucent, CBS Sportsline, and UC San Diego. Leading his own design firm – MadNative Design – and as Creative Manager at Alejandrino Partners, Brian has developed his skills on a wide range of projects, including website design, marketing campaigns, digital advertising, trade show booths, annual reports, keynote presentations, direct mail  and sales collateral. 
Brian approaches his work with balance. To excel at design requires one to bring equal parts aesthetics, intellect, and experience to the table, much as excelling in sports demands athleticism, strategy and lots of practice. In both arenas, those who are most committed to teamwork do best.
And Brian would know – he was a star running back at Occidental College, where he double-majored in economics and fine arts – long before he became an accomplished art director.
“Great design is a team game,” he said. “It’s all about problem-solving. How can we capture people’s attention? What’s the best way to communicate a given concept? How can we make it as interesting as possible? On any project, we all have to be accountable.”
When Brian, a San Diego native, isn’t assisting clients, he enjoys walking and hiking with his wife and children, reading biographies, traveling and working out.
INTERESTING FACT: Brian’s lucky number is 4. For example, he married his wife after 44 days, welcomed his first daughter into the world in delivery room 4 at 4:40 in the afternoon and his son was born on the fourth. His clients are especially lucky, though – they’re always number 1.
